I'm so glad you liked it. :-) It was a *really* good book, once you get past the swearing. What he talks about with Iraq was very interesting to me - it was one of the best parts of the book. Yeah, he was a little crazy (he kept talking about how he wanted to kill someone because you weren't a Marine until you did - that kind of thing) but honestly, I'd rather have someone like that out there fighting for me than someone who is squeamish about guns. After all, fighting and killing is what a soldier does.

After reading this book, it made me realize more than ever that although I grew up a Marine Corps brat (LOTS of emphasis on BRAT, of course, LOL!) I really don't have the stomach to be a Marine myself. Growing up on military bases, I had always kind of thought about it, but never did actually enlist. This book made me realize what a good idea that was for me, because I don't think I would have made it out of boot camp alive. ;-) LOL!

Thanks for this one, Havs. My nephew is a Marine and also served in Iraq. I'm glad Martinez made it back to tell his story.
