Michael, I agree. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really need to pick up a Sparks novel, since it seems like I'd love that too.

Jennifer, it was actually Michael (the comment above yours) who made my header for me for free! What a sweetie, eh? I was planning on linking to him in my next post to tell him thank you because it's so much better than the theme I had before. :-)

SmallWorld, definitely check the book out from the library - it's one of the best memoirs I've read. Some memoirs are just so full of "Poor me!" that by the end, you're just sick of listening to them whine. Not this one.

Even though Nicholas's parents were definitely tough on him and his siblings, they were also very loving, and Nicholas never once complains that he think they were mistreated as children. He says he wouldn't raise his own kids that way, but that this was just the way it was for his family, and he laughs about it. He seems like a really cool guy.

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone!

I had seen "A Walk to Remember" and "The Notebook" and knew that Sparks was a master at that particular genre, and I can't even tell you why I bought this book when I too was at the bookstore and it caught my eye.

All I can tell you is that I am glad I did. What an amazing read this book was.
